Nosegay. Posy-spray. Tussie Mussie. This once popular holder of tiny bouquets went by many names, and served many purposes. Filled with a rose for love, a dahlia for gratitude, a spill of pearls for grief, the tussie mussie conveyed the wearer's state of mind and heart in the otherwise emotionally austere Victorian era. A relatively recent replica, this piece is in excellent condition, complete with a metal loop, chain and pin to hold a small spray of flowers in place.
